| Gates in Paradise by Maori Iron Works | ||||||||
"Local metal sculptor and multiple discipline artist, Laszlo Gyore is producing some of his strongest architectural art to date." Gyore has found his calling in Hawaii. Laszlo Gyore has started a new sculpture studio on the big island in the town called Pahoa. There, in a pristine and magnificent jungle the Maori Iron Works is bending, burning, flaming and flexing fantastic steel structures for the benefit of clients clients who care about their seclusion/safety and beautifying their environment. Iron gates make up the bulk of the Maori Iron Works product line. These are not just your normal run of the mill vertical iron bars on two horizontal rods. These gates are truly unique works of art in steel, bronze and copper. They are massive in form. They are also amazing in their beauty and the imaginative force of Gyore is obviously intact in these new environs. Enjoy a close up look at the sample photographs of the gates (to the right). Click on each photo for a full size image. When you're done - take a tour of the Hawaiiana O Puna where handmade Hawaiian puppets tell the stories of "Ku'ula" (the god of fishing) and "Kahuli Aku" (native Hawaiian tree snails) in a puppet show performed in a traditional Hawaiian story telling style. The shows feature puppets crafted by Gyore himself. |
